We have all been there before, getting ready to buy a house and then suddenly something of a negative nature pops up on our credit score that poses to keep us out of our dream home forever. There are ways to make sure you DO NOT end up in this sort of predicament however. Hopefully, the following tips for raising your credit score will be beneficial to you so that you can find your new home and move in before the holidays!

• Pay credit card bills before the statement date. Many times folks wait until the due date to pay a bill but if you are willing and able to pay them before the statement date, your credit score is likely to improve.
• If you can afford to make multiple payments on your credit balance throughout the month, this will also show favorably on your credit score. Check with your credit card company to make sure you are allowed to do this before beginning because some do not allow it.
• If you only have a couple bad marks on your credit, you can ask for a “good will deletion” . Of course if you are late over and over again you will not be able to reap this reward but if you can show that you otherwise have paid your bills on time you may be able to get those couple nasty marks off your credit and therefore raise your score!
• If one of your accounts has recently gone into collections you may be able to pay it off and have it removed from your credit report as a result. Be sure to get any type of promise to delete in writing so that you can be sure it will be taken off once you pay.

Credit issues can be hard to deal with especially if you are looking to purchase a new home in the near future, but take it from someone who knows….it CAN be done and you CAN have the house of your dreams maybe sooner than you had imagined! Things To Do Orlando: The Spark Run

Come and Ignite the Night at The Spark Run!

The Spark Run is the ultimate nighttime 5k run/walk. It is a high-energy family friendly event featuring an interactive environment full of light and sound providing a sensory voyage like no other.


Participants are encouraged to "Ignite the Night" with glow sticks, LED's and outrageous costumes. The Spark Run celebrates fun, health, originality and giving back to the community.

The Spark Run in Orlando starts at 8:00 pm but come early and enjoy the food and festivities at the pre-run plaza, which opens at 6:00 pm. There will be face painting and plenty of glow gear and merchandise available. Don’t forget to stay for the ultimate after-party featuring a performance by Kaskade from 9:30-11pm.

Things To Do Orlando: 5th Annual Lake Conway Wipeout

 
Lake Conway Wipeout was started in 2010 by a few friends who enjoy water, boats, and laughter. After watching ABC-TV's hit show Wipeout one night, a Facebook conversation turned into brainstorming our own version of Wipeout. 2014 marks the event’s fifth year, and it has grown from a few boating friends to over 300 boats and over 1,000 spectators.

The 5th annual Lake Conway Wipeout will take place Saturday, July 26th, 2014, from noon until 5:00pm at the sandbar on Lake Conway in Orlando. The event is only accessible by boat, but Lake Conway does have public boat ramps.

Our crews will set up an inflatable obstacle course at Lake Conway’s sandbar and participants run the course to see who gets the best time. It is a great family event and kids-only run the course the first two hours of the event. Come out and laugh at your friends and family bouncing off an inflatable obstacle course on the water. We have great prizes for the winners too!

* Registration for children 8-15 starts at 10:30am until spots are filled. Everyone under 18 needs to have a legal parent or guardian present to sign their waiver form or check in. Also, must walk along the outside of the course with that child!!!!

* Registration for adults 16-up starts at 12:30pm until spots are filled. Again, anyone under 18 needs a legal parent or guardian present to sign the waiver or check in even though you are in the adult category.

* Children 8-15 will run the course from 12pm to 2pm, adults 16-up will run the course from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.

* Award Ceremony is at 4:45pm The public ramp for Lake Conway is located on Hoffner Ave just east of Orange Ave.

The sand bar is at the East side of Big Lake Conway. Check the Facebook page for updates and maps for the ramp and sandbar locations. The event is free, but we ask you to donate via the following link the proceeds go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help wipeout blood cancers.

*Important Notice: This event is only accessible by boat. All of the shoreline near the event is private property. Anyone trespassing will be prosecuted. The shoreline and streets around the event will be monitored by local authorities, and any cars parked illegally will be towed.

Orlando FL Foreclosure Trends for April 2014

In April, the number of properties that received a foreclosure filing in Orlando, FL was 30% higher than the previous month and 2% higher than the same time last year, according to RealtyTrac.com.

Orlando foreclosures were 0.26% above national statistics, 0.12% above state figures, and the same as Orange County numbers in April 2014.

The current distribution of foreclosures based on the number of active foreclosure homes in Orlando, FL.
Pre-foreclosures accounted for 71.5% of the foreclosure activity in April,  Auctions were 16.7%, and Bank-owned properties were 11.8%.

In April, the number of bank-owned properties increased 10.4% from the previous month and increased 2.2% from the previous year. The number of auctions increased 51.2% from the previous month and rose 13.5% from the previous year. ‘X Factor’: Three Central Florida acts in Top 16

The Orlando Sentinel reports....

Orlando has a starring role when "The X Factor" goes live Tuesday. Three acts from Central Florida are among the Top 16 that will perform in the singing contest at 8 p.m. on Fox. "It goes to show that Orlando is the best-kept secret," said Rachel Potter, 29, who lived in Orlando six years. "I played at the Abbey over the summer. I hired a band to be my musicians. I've worked with musicians in New York and Nashville, and they blew them out of the water.

There's so much talent in Orlando." Alex Kinsey, 22, of New Smyrna Beach agrees. "It's pretty amazing," he said. "Our area has so much talent to share." Kinsey and Sierra Deaton, 22, of Winter Springs perform as the duo Alex & Sierra. The two -- she is a University of Central Florida grad, he is a UCF student -- are mentored by Simon Cowell.
