Things to do Orlando: Dark Sky Festival

Take a little visit to Harmony from Orlando to learn more about protecting our dark skies.  Join the local astronomers as they show you all the ways light pollution effects more than just being able to see the stars.  The festival will take place on the streets, sidewalks and park located in Harmony Town Square.  Come out and learn more about how the town of Harmony has made great strides to protect the night skies around Harmony.
The 11th Annual Dark Sky Festival will take place on February 28th and March 1st from 5pm-10pm.  This is a family friendly event with interactive activities for the kids.  On Friday enjoy Kids story time, the Harmony Community School Choir and hear from NASA speaker Yves Lamothe on “Earth and Beyond”  On Saturday test your astronomy knowledge with Astronomy Jeopardy, hear from Beverly Rother on Space Tourism and meet NASA astronaut Dr. Story Musgrave.
This is a great way to learn more about diming the lights outside in the Orlando.  Bring the family out for this fun event.
